His interests include economics and trade development, health, local government, housing, criminal law reform, transport, heritage, town planning, urban planning and inner city development.

Downer THE HON ALEXANDER DOWNER AC

Alexander Downer was the longest serving Australian Foreign Minister, and is now UN envoy to Cyprus. In every respect, Alexander Downer serves his country with enormous energy, passion, dedication and integrity. He has earned respect all around the World as a man committed to making the World a better place and has enhanced Australia’s position in the global fraternity. His energy and passion is unsurpassed.

Bligh ANNA BLIGH

Anna Bligh was the Premier of Queensland from 2007 to 2012. She has had a distinguished career in public office and her expertise across a wide range of public policy areas makes her commentary of great value to any event. Anna is admired by many and respected by people across the political divide.

Brown BOB BROWN

Bob Brown is a former Australian Greens politician, medical doctor, environmentalist, former Senator and former Parliamentary Leader of the Australian Greens. While serving in the Tasmanian parliament, Brown successfully campaigned for a large increase in the size of protected wilderness areas.

Political Commentators
Carney SHAWN CARNEY

Making sense of Canberra: politicians, unions and business, The Age’s Associate Editor Shaun Carney has been an astute, rational and wry commentator on industrial relations and political affairs for more than 20 years. Author of two books, including a biography of Peter Costello, he is an amused and amusing student of political life. Shawn provides a clear view into the personalities and machinations of Federal politics and the union movement.

Denniss DR RICHARD DENNISS

Richard Denniss is the media’s go-to man on all things renewable, political and economic. Executive Director of the Australia Institute, he is an economist with a particular interest in the role of regulation. He has published widely on the impact of policy on economic efficiency and equity, and is particularly interested in the economics of environmental and labour market regulation.

Suter DR KEITH SUTER

Speaking on International Affairs, Law, Society, Leadership, Business and the Future, Dr Keith Suter is a social commentator, strategic planner, conference speaker, writer and broadcaster (appearing on radio an average of once per day and as the TV Channel 7 Network “Sunrise” foreign affairs expert).

Middleton JIM MIDDLETON

Kirby JAMES KIRBY

Faine JON FAINE

Each weekday morning from 8.30am, be it politics, finance, health, law arts or sport, Jon investigates the issues and stories affecting Melbourne with energy and vigour - all without taking life too seriously.

Political Satirists and Comedians
Dawe BRYAN DAWE

Bryan Dawe is one of Australia’s finest political satirists, best-known for his work with John Clarke on the ABC’s 7.30 Report, where they prick the balloons of the nation’s alleged political leaders. Bryan’s sharp wit and observation together with his flexibility and unique performances make him a popular addition to any corporate event. His obvious talent lends itself to MC, facilitator, hypothetical moderator, conference speaker and after dinner entertainer.

Politically Incorrect POLITICALLY INCORRECT

There are Julia Gillard impersonators and Kevin Rudd impersonators, but corporate comedy imitates politics when ‘Jewel-ya’, who is much more than a Julia Gillard impersonator, crosses the floor at your corporate event to the music of ‘Advance Australia Fair Shake’.

This Kevin Rudd impersonator of Kevin Rudd impersonators looks so much like a carbon (taxed) copy of the obsolete ‘Kevin 07’ it’s scary! – and hilarious. Between them, the ‘Politically Incorrect’ carbon copies of Julia and Kevin will give you all their politically incorrect reasons for their new policies and invite questions, but in keeping with traditional policy, will answer their own. ‘Politically Incorrect’ is the funniest ‘stimulus package’ that you can count on, as disapproved by both of (the real) Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd.

Gillies MAX GILLIES

No one plays Australian politicians the way Max Gillies does. His silver-bodgie Bob Hawke was eerily accurate, his stump-footed John Howard the very definition of dorkiness.

Actor, comedian and impersonator extraordinaire, Max Gillies is renowned for his satirical impressions of Australian politicians.

Connolly GERRY CONNOLLY

Comedian, actor and impressionist, Gerry Connolly is acknowledged as one of the foremost performers in Australia. His hilarious impersonations of royalty, retiring superstars and recalcitrant politicians enthral audiences with their warm, yet gleefully wicked, humour.

An extremely versatile performer, Gerry Connolly is masterful at hosting or addressing a function. His satirical caricatures include Margaret Thatcher, Bill Collins, Sir Joh Bjelke Petersen, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Dame Joan Sutherland and, of course, Her Majesty The Queen. In the role of a famous celebrity guest, he often also fields questions from his audience - with riotous response!

Morrow JULIAN MORROW

Julian has been a writer/performer on all of The Chaser’s ABC TV programs: The Election Chaser (2001), CNNNN (2002, 2003), The Chaser Decides (2004) and The Chaser’s War on Everything (2006, 2007 and 2009) which together have lost a host of Australian and international TV comedy awards. In this context, he has earned one criminal conviction and several near-misses, including most notably the Chaser’s APEC motorcade stunt in 2007.

Biggins JONATHAN BIGGINS

Jonathan Biggins is a writer, corporate MC and speaker, performer and broadcaster. Jonathan is Director of Revue for the Sydney Theatre Company, featuring in (among others) the sell-out Sunday in Iraq With George, Stuff All Happens and Revue sans Frontieres. As a writer, Jonathan contributes to Fairfax’s Good Weekend magazine, and Australian Wine Selector.

Ackroyd ANTHONY ACKROYD

Anthony is one of Australia’s most successful stand up comics and comedy writers. He is the creator and director of the global organisation United Nations Of Comedy. In the corporate event arena, Anthony is one of the most in demand and accomplished comedians and speakers, and an MC par excellence. Due to his striking resemblance to our nation’s former leader, he has also become the world’s No. 1 Kevin Rudd impersonator with a specially designed corporate act!
